CBD Oil Effects – How will it affect your future?

Do you suffer from any of the following conditions? Anxiety, Alzheimer’s, Insomnia or Epilepsy?

Do you have Chronic Pain or Inflammation, Migraines or Acne ?.

Are you fighting Cancer?

Do you want to Quit Smoking or Rehabilitate from Drug/Substance Abuse?

In this Article CBD Oil – How will it affect your future?  I am going to share with you how amazing CBD Oil is and how it can be of benefit to so many thousands of people suffering from the above issues in their lives.

What is CBD Oil?

Cannabidiol or CBD is a cannabinoid found in the Cannabis plant.Picture of Joy Organics Tincture

It is also naturally made by our body for use with our ECS.

CBD oil is an oil containing various concentrations of CBD also known as a Cannabinoid.

The best quality CBD Oil will have no THC, if they do, they should have no more than 0.3% THC.

CBD Oil cannot get you ‘high‘, THC is the cannabinoid that causes the ‘high’ feeling Cannabis users get.

CBD has become a pretty sought after compound (Cannabinoid), and is one of the most controversial topics in decades, even though it does not cause the psychoactive effects of Cannabis (Marijuana).

To understand how CBD works inside the body, please read my most recent articles:

The Endocannabinoid System (ECS) in Humans and The Endocannabinoid System and CBD.

CBD Supports the ECS, so it is essential to understand how they work together to appreciate the special relationship they have in our bodies. You will then understand how CBD can benefit our health.

I think we should all be taking CBD Oil as a daily supplement (even if we have no diagnosed health issues).

CBD Oil Pain Management

CBD Oil can work for people with medical conditions that cause them Chronic Pain or Neuropathic pain (these are the most difficult pains to treat with traditional medicines).

Cannabinoids suppress inflammatory and neuropathic pain by targeting α3 glycine receptors

The body’s ECS has the job of managing and alleviating pain in the body and the ECS needs CBD to do this job.

By adding CBD Oil to our body as a supplement, it assists the ECS to manage pain and inflammation in conditions such as Arthritis and Multiple Sclerosis.

In our brains, we have a neurotransmitter called Adenosine.

Adenosine aids cardiovascular function and eases painful inflammation.

CBD Oil increase levels of Adenosine in the brain.  Amazing right.

When your ECS is able to function properly, your body is more likely to respond better to pain even when traditional medicines are not working.

In other words, CBD works, even when other drugs like morphine don’t.

WHY?

When the ECS detects inflammation, it reacts to cannabinoids (CBD) and releases enzymes all through the Central Nervous System, Body and Brain to reduce inflammation.

If we add CBD to our bodies, we instigate this reaction and get relief from pain and inflammation as the ECS is able to work more efficiently with the extra support of CBD.

That’s why for some time now, CBD is being chosen as a number one treatment option for chronic pain.

Read more on the Therapeutic Effect of Cannabis and Cannabinoids where they have researched this effect:

  • “In adults with chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting, oral cannabinoids are effective antiemetics.
  • In adults with chronic pain, patients who were treated with cannabis or cannabinoids are more likely to experience a clinically significant reduction in pain symptoms.
  • In adults with multiple sclerosis (MS)-related spasticity, short-term use of oral cannabinoids improves patient-reported spasticity symptoms”.

CBD can be applied to the skin in salves or balm and in skincare, because the ECS is involved with looking after your skin, CBD can easily be absorbed externally, and effects are usually noticed quite quickly.

CBD Oil Cancer Treatment

Recent studies have shown us that CBD may enable “antiproliferative pro-apoptotic effects” that:

  • “decreases the ability of cancer cells to grow.
  • decreases the ability of cancer cells to attach to various structures
  • prevent cancer cell migration to other parts of the body and organs.
  • shrink tumours, and more”.

Check out this study from 2011 where they found CBD killed breast cancer cells.

Cannabidiol induces programmed cell death in breast cancer cells

With the potential to offer these benefits along with the proven interactions CBD has with our ECS, this means CBD could become a huge part of cancer treatments in the near future.

CBD is also used to increase appetites and help decrease nausea and vomiting experienced by cancer patients. In low doses, CBD will suppress toxin-induced vomiting.

In the 1970s and ’80s, before “modern” anti-nausea drugs became available, CBD was widely studied for its anti-emetic (vomiting) properties.

I wonder why CBD has been brushed aside? Maybe it was the medical companies.

CBD may work on the same receptors as traditional treatments, but it does so without all the negative side effects experienced by patients using traditional treatments.

To say CBD could be a natural wonder drug may be an understatement very soon.

CBD Oil for Anxiety

We have already discussed how CBD works with the ECS in our body.

Now we will look at CBD Oil for Anxiety.

The ECS (Endocannabinoid System) impacts directly on Cannabinoid Receptors.

There are two receptors and they are known as CB1 and CB2. Read More

CB1 receptors are mostly found in the brain, they are the same receptors (Serotonin Receptors) that certain anxiety medications work on (which lessen the symptoms of anxiety and other related conditions).

This means that CBD can lessen symptoms of Anxiety and Depression as it activates the Serotonin receptor (CB1) in the brain. Activating this receptor releases Serotonin into the body, relieving the symptoms.

“Serotonin helps regulate mood and social behaviour, appetite and digestion, sleep, memory, and sexual desire and function”.

This review of Cannabidiol as a Potential Treatment for Anxiety Disorders concluded that:

“Preclinical evidence conclusively demonstrates CBD’s efficacy in reducing anxiety behaviours relevant to multiple disorders” and went on to finish saying that “Overall, this review emphasizes the potential value and need for further study of CBD in the treatment of anxiety disorders.”

CBD reduces the effects of common anxiety-related conditions such as:

  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Social anxiety.
  • Generalized anxiety disorder.
  • Panic disorders.
  • Moderate depression.
  • Insomnia – Depression and Anxiety disorders are linked to sleep disruption.

A study was done in 2018 on 33 people that were classed as “at clinical risk” of psychosis.

They were dosed with CBD.

The results were “that cannabidiol may normalize dysfunction in the brain regions, which are critically implicated in psychosis, and this may underlie its therapeutic effects in psychosis”.

This means CBD oil can reduce the symptoms of Schizophrenia and disorders with psychotic episodes.

CBD Oil and Epileptic Seizures

Did you know that in the late 19th century, prominent English neurologists including Reynolds and Gowers used cannabis to treat epilepsy?

Dravet syndrome and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome (LGS) are two of the cruellest and rarest Epilepsy syndromes in children and they don’t respond to antiseizure medication.

Some of the best scientific research so far has been on using CBD to reduce seizures and how often they occur.

In numerous studies, this has been achieved, in fact in some case I have read, seizures stopped altogether.

Do you remember the Figi family and their daughter Charlotte?

Charlotte was having up to 300 seizures a week. The family decided they had to find a solution for their daughter.

The Fiji family obtained some cannabis plants and extracted the oil by hand. They gave the oil to their daughter and began to see some life-changing results. Charlotte had a reduction in numbers of seizures.

This led them on a battle to change legislation around CBD.

In June 2018 the FDA approved the first-ever cannabis-derived medicine for these conditions, Epidiolex, which contains CBD.

CBD can ease seizures in other forms of epilepsy too and it has shown it has neuroprotective properties, that protect the brain better when seizures occur.

CBD Oil Acne

Dermatologists are excited by the fact the CBD can treat acne and other skin problems like Acne as it has been found that CBD lowers the production of sebum (overproduction of sebum causes acne).

CBDs anti-inflammatory properties also help with reducing Acne.

Dr Jeanette Jacknin is a board-certified dermatologist, consultant, and speaker on holistic skincare and CBD.

Picture of Joy Organics SkinCare Range

Dr Jacknin talks about using topical CBD for skincare and believes CBD may be the next big thing in anti-aging skincare products. She believes the way that the ECS interacts with CBD will help the skin look more “radiant and youthful”.

A 2018 review found topical cannabinoids to be beneficial for acne, rashes, dermatitis, itching, and psoriasis.

CBD Oil for Alzheimers Disease

Inflammation has been proven to increase the effects of Alzheimer’s and is the core cause of Alzheimer’s conditions.

We discussed CBD Oil Inflammation earlier on, so we know already that CBD helps reduce inflammation.

In Alzheimer’s, CBD reduces the inflammation, oxygen build-up and brain cell decline.

In 2016 evidence collected from a study by the Salk Institute found that Cannabinoids may remove Alzheimer’s Proteins from Brain Cells by reducing inflammation and oxygen build up in the brain.

What helps Inflammation?

CBD Oil has great proven anti-inflammatory abilities.

REM Behaviour Disorder (RBD) is characterized by shouting, being physically agitated and acting out while you are asleep. This can be a disorder on its own, or as symptoms of Alzheimer’s or PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).

We have learned about how CBD Oil minimises the symptoms of Anxiety and inflammation, so CBD is able to alleviate the symptoms of RBD.

At this stage, the research here suggests the CBD could be a preventative treatment for “symptoms of social withdrawal and facial recognition”.

Imagine your loved ones dealing with the awful symptoms of Alzheimer’s and imagine if they could not recognise you anymore.

Imagine what CBD could do for the quality of their life, and your peace of mind, I know first hand that it’s not easy seeing a loved one lose their dignity.

CBD Oil to Quit Smoking

Cannabidiol reduces cigarette consumption in tobacco smokers

This is a bold statement to make, but if you read the study above, it’s a positive finding, and I think CBD will be able to help people stop smoking.

Statistics in America say: “Smoking is considered the leading cause of death in the United States, accounting for about 1 in 5 adult deaths each year”.

It is suggested that 70% of smokers want to quit.

Nicotine is one of the hardest drugs to quit (next to Heroin, Methamphetamine, Cocaine etc).

Another study that is published in the Addiction Journal and performed by University College London revealed a 40% success rate when using CBD products. Participants claimed that even a low dose of CBD stopped the thoughts that made them feel like a cigarette.

It would appear that nicotine addiction is tied to the Endocannabinoid System (and of course we know the CBD works with the ECS to maintain homeostasis in our body.

Smoking cessation maybe another one of the many benefits of CBD oil.

CBD Oil for Substance Abuse

Opioids interact with the receptors in our brain that are responsible for pain, behaviour and addiction.

So does CBD Oil.

Opioids are so addictive because they react with the neurotransmitters in our body that block pain and increase endorphins and dopamine – creating the “high” that Opioid users are chasing.

CBD Oil also interacts with the same receptors.

Earlier we discussed CBD Oil for Anxiety and pain – these symptoms are also assisted with drug addiction, which is why CBD is promising for Treating Substance Abuse.

CBD is able to mimic the brains response to addiction triggers (like stress and anxiety) but can do this without creating the ‘high’ feeling that Opioids do.

The Analgesic Potential of Cannabinoids

So while reducing Opioid doses and replacing with CBD the user will get relief from the triggers but not get high (and not be putting chemicals in their body), over time CBD replaces the Opioid.

Development of Cannabidiol as a Treatment for Addiction

Substance abuse is a critical issue in lots of Countries, CBD could end this crisis.

  2. I did not know that CBD oil could help with epilepsy. This disease is really bad and the seizures that come with it can create even more harm. Because, you do not control where and how you fall.

I think the CBD oil is a wonderful product that we all need to take even if it is just to improve our systems. And the assistance of a doctor to direct us on how and which quantity we can use is paramount to avoid any abuse or misuse.

    Thanks for sharing

I don’t suffer from any of the conditions you described, but I have had tensional cephalia. I would like to start taking CBD oil as a supplement.

I wanted to ask you if hemp seed oil is just as beneficial or if CBD oil is much more effective?

  5. Thank you very much for the extensive review on CBD. Looks it has the capacities curing any diseases we know. I am so happy that we have the magic agent available to improve the quality of live for so many patients.

You mentioned that CBD can be used for cancer treatment. Do you know if there is any prescription of CBD for cancer treatment or which hospital is applying CBD for cancer? I have several friends who is suffering late stages of cancer. I think it is good idea for them to use CBD. I would like to identify hospitals so that they could have professional care with CBD. It is kind of hard to dosing for cancer treatment.

It is very kind of you sharing the live-saving information!

  6. It’s amazing how CBD works well for most health problems and conditions. I just really hope that more countries will be open to accept the health advantages of CBD oil and allow itsavailability. I want to try it out for several reasons. One would be to cut down or stop cigarette intake of my husband. I know he’s trying but it’s hard for him. I think that if it’ good for acne, then maybe it can also be beneficial for mild sebhorreic dermatitis that my sister have. From time to time, dry patches would be seen on her elbows and knuckles. She is under a treatment and medication but as expected, it always come back.

Thank you for sharing such an important article about the healing wonders of CBD. I have learned so much things about its benefits and how it works to prevent or treat certain diseases and illnesses. Hope to read more of this from you
